Physical Abstraction

P-A-T-T-E-R-N-S, Marcelo Spina: “It is cheaper to be virtual than real…it actually looks like a drawing.”

The projected images lining up with certain portions of the fabricated object is the difference between abstraction and applying a new texture/skin onto the object.

How much of the original idea must one sacrifice when it comes to fabrication? If complete integration between object, image, and technology is not so perfectly achieved, can the user balance out the equation, bringing in an more or less calculated part in the experience of the abstracted physical object?
